A severe decline of textile industry in 2009 caused by the global crisis has brought both advantages and disadvantages for Vietnam. Hence, this study comes up with brief introduction of Textile and Garment worldwide and Vietnam after the financial crisis. In the next five years, the emerging markets with large size of population such as China and India are expected to increase significantly in both demand and supply quantity, whereas the figures for developed countries are estimated to decelerate. This situation offers Vietnam apparel industry a valuable opportunity to surge the amount of processed textile products to the large firms, especially in the current circumstance that its export turnovers contribute a noticeably amount to the GDP (15-20%). This research features a comprehensive outlook of Vietnam textile and garment industry in 2015 which has involved 5,214 businesses and created jobs for 2,500,000 workers, by comparing with textile operations of the international market (included real data and charts). The report firstly covers all contributing factors, including macroeconomics situation, related government policies, Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) and Foreign Trade Agreements (FTA). The report mainly pays attention to textile and garment value chain of Vietnam. As can be clearly seen that Vietnam textile industry has advantages in spinning stage. The figures show that in 2014, synthetic fibers and natural fibers occupied approximately 90% of total fiber production in Vietnam, while only 10% was artificial fibers. Particularly, the proportion of natural fiber increases nearly 50% compared to that in 2010. Another strength of Vietnam textile manufacturing is sewing stage, in which the percentage of apparel products grew by 2.5% yoy and the average export growth rate reached a peak at 17.7% in 2014. On the other hand, Vietnam textile industry still meets abundant number of obstacles in raw materials and weaving step. Cotton is one of raw materials to produce natural fibers, however the percentage of cotton production plunged by about 71% from 2010/2011 to 2014/2015. Thus, domestic production satisfies just 0.2% demand, of which fabric product meets only 15-16%, resulting in the fact that Vietnam virtually relies on import sector.
