Theo tin Vietnamese American Youth Alliance

WHAT: 12th Annual San Diego Tet Festival WHEN: Friday, January 27, 2017, 5:00 PM – Sunday, January 29, 2017, 9:00 PM PST WHERE: Mira Mesa Community Park, 8575 New Salem Street, San Diego, CA 92126 Benefit concert to raise funds to support “My Lai” – Amerviets abandoned in Vietnam (During the Vietnam war, there were many children born who were half-American and half-Vietnamese. These children were shunned by the Vietnamese government and community and were denied basic food, clothing, and shelter. They faced abusive racism and were not recognized as citizens or even human-beings. These children are now adults, with a new generation of families to support. Some were able to come to America for freedom and survival. However, many remain in Vietnam. They continue to face intense racism and are NOT ALLOWED to get jobs to provide for themselves and their families.) One of our Rocky Mountain Movement families has taken on the burden and blessing of supporting these people. They travel to Vietnam each year to donate food and clothing and to set up self-sustaining businesses so that Amerviets can survive and thrive. They have created this benefit concert to raise funds to support their efforts and projects, and have invited our students to perform at the event. We support this cause and invite you to attend the concert, support our kids and their performance, and donate to the cause!!!! Hope to see you there!!!
