Readout of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s Call With Vietnam’s Minister of National Defence, General Phan Van Giang

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held an introductory call today with Vietnam’s Minister of National Defence, General Phan Van Giang, to share views on the growing U.S.-Vietnam defense relationship, regional security, and restoring deterrence.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Secretary Hegseth underscored the Department’s support for ongoing efforts to collaborate on legacy of war issues, deepen cooperation on defense trade, increase defense industrial base cooperation, and expand information sharing

Hôm nay Bộ trưởng Quốc phòng Pete Hegseth đã có cuộc điện đàm chào xã giao với Bộ trưởng Quốc phòng Việt Nam, Đại tướng Phan Văn Giang, để chia sẻ quan điểm về mối quan hệ quốc phòng ngày càng phát triển giữa Hoa Kỳ và Việt Nam, về an ninh khu vực và khôi phục khả năng răn đe.
Hai nhà lãnh đạo tái khẳng định cam kết đối với Quan hệ đối tác chiến lược toàn diện Hoa Kỳ-Việt Nam. Bộ trưởng Hegseth nhấn mạnh sự ủng hộ của Bộ Quốc phòng đối với những nỗ lực hiện hữu nhằm hợp tác trong các vấn đề chiến tranh để lại, tăng cường hợp tác về thương mại quốc phòng, tăng cường hợp tác trong lĩnh vực công nghiệp quốc phòng, và mở rộng hoạt động chia sẻ thông tin.
