Additional Commercial Flight Option from Hanoi to London (April 8, 2020)

This is a message from the U.S. Embassy Hanoi and U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City to assist U.S. citizens in remaining informed during the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Vietnam.
Important Information for U.S. Citizens – Flight to London:
The Embassies of the United Kingdom and Ireland in Vietnam have secured an additional commercial flight to LONDON with Vietnam Airlines which is now open to citizens of all nationalities interested in departing from Vietnam and Cambodia. This is a commercial flight by Vietnam Airlines scheduled to depart from HANOI on Tuesday, April 14, at 2:20 AM. U.S. citizens who wish to take advantage of this opportunity are responsible for providing their own transportation from their current location in Vietnam to the airport in Hanoi. Interested U.S. citizens would be responsible for all fees in advance of departure and, if applicable, would need to find additional commercial transportation from LONDON to the United States or any other third country. This flight will only take place if there is enough interest to make it commercially viable. Interested U.S. citizens must register themselves by April 8 here.

Please note that the Flight Interest Registration Form mentions potential repatriation loans from the British and Irish Embassies to their citizens. U.S. citizens are not eligible to request this assistance.

U.S. citizens are advised to consider all information regarding entry requirements to the United Kingdom and the United States in deciding whether to make use of this commercial flight option.
