Suspended Visa Interviews
In order to protect both visa applicants and our staff in response to the evolving Coronavirus situation, as of March 19, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have suspended visa interviews. All appointments from March 19 through April 10 have been canceled.
For non-immigrant visa applicants: We will open new appointments as soon as we are able. Please check our website here frequently for updates. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please see the information about qualifications for an expedited appointment here. Applicants who wish to request an expedited appointment at U.S. Embassy Hanoi may submit their request through the USTravelDocs system Applicants who wish to request an expedited appointment at U.S. Consulate in HCMC, if you have read the qualifications for an expedited appointment and believe that you are qualified, please submit an inquiry form here. Please be sure to attach evidence to demonstrate your urgent need to travel.
For immigrant visa applicants: We will update this notice once we are able to resume visa processing. At that time, if you have already missed your previously scheduled appointment, we will post instructions for rescheduling. Please contact us through this page with any inquiries.
The Embassy and the Consulate regret any inconvenience caused by these measures and will resume normal operations as soon as possible.
